The ISS Marine Academy (IMA) is Inchcape Shipping Services’ own training
resource dedicated to providing the highest quality learning and development to
our employees. Through a blend of e-learning, classroom activities and outsourced
training providers we provide the necessary environment and facilities to enable
our personnel to reach their potential. The principle method of training delivery
is through online, e-learning resources developed in partnership with industry and,
in particular, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS). These are accessed
by ISS employees on successfully passing the IMA Induction Programme and achieving
‘Membership’ of the IMA. Additionally, this website hosts online resources pertinent
to shipping industry professionals and, at the administrative headquarters - co-located
with the Corporate Office in Chafford Hundred, United Kingdom - there is a comprehensive
library as well as a training room and fully functioning IT training suite. Our
approach is to ensure that all material delivered by the IMA is validated by a body
of industry specialists.
